Back To School Dance Reggae Style

Thanks, Ms. Ofeina for coming up with this

idea of hanging up the middle section!

Soana, Pele, Litea & Tia helping out.

The request for this dance was simple, "no balloons" so we tried winging
it without the ballons and used only the paper and whatever
decorations we had to fit the theme.

The theme is "Back To School" with a reggae beat to it. We
thought that would liven up the crowd and get them
movin..we really love decorating with the balloons, but I
think the clean up afterwards is too much for the clean-up
crew. So we decided that this would be simple enough
since we're working with a budget of $20 for decorations.

The pictures don't really show everything..
but it does look really nice for a last minute
decoration for tonite. Hope they like it.

Special Thanks to all that showed up to help! Ofeina, Pele, Soana, Tia
Litea & Fita...Thanks ladies:)

Rose City 1st Youth Dance

Still trying to finish up the posts. Big silver gloves
were to top off the posts. This is the DJ's section.

We finally received the pictures from one of the dances
that we did two months ago for The Rose City 1st Ward's
Youth Dance. They requested black, white and silver
theme, It was supposed to be a Michael Jackson Theme
with the silver gloves and all that jazz. But things changed
last minute and they only required the balloons.

Much thanks to the elders for letting us into the building,
helping out and providing us with these pictures!

Personal Progress Project: Service

we had a wedding last saturday in our ward for new members and were

asked by the Relief Society if we could donate some of our time and
materials for this wedding. Since we were already serving in the young women
we decided to have the girls do the decorating in order to complete their
service section for their Personal Progress Reports.

We were given the favors table, gift table and the couples' memories table.
the pictures above is the practice layout on what we were going to go with
and what the girls had chosen the table to look like.

We didn't get pictures of the memories table that ended up being the
couples cake table..since they didn't have any pictures to go on their
memories table. We only have this (before) pic. top..

Recent events happening at Wild Orchid

It's been a while and I'm glad to announce that we've added a

new partner to Wild Orchid!! Siu T. is a good friend of ours and
has joined the crew as of yesterday. We've been off to a slow
start and started off by participating in a wedding for our ward
yesterday. We were asked to do two tables of our choice. so we
chose to create the table holding all the wedding favors and their
photo memories table.

There was no budget for this wedding as we we're asked on a
volunteer basis. so we went in putting forth our best effort
donating our time and materials to get the task done.

Siu came with a Partylite Candle Chandelier and that went on
the front table for box of assorted items for us to use from her
shopping finds..and everything was awesome!! I came with an
assortment of glass containers/vases, floating candles..

The Young Women donated their time and effort in filling up
and helping out with the favor boxes and decorating the tables
in order to get their Personal Progress Points for "Service".

The wedding reception is scheduled to start @ 5pm. it's 4:30 pm
and the grooms' family arrives with their wedding cake but there's
no table to place the cake on. So they're checking out our
table that we had set up for the couple's photos and asked what
that table was for. So I told them we had set it up for the couples
photos and stuff.

So the grooms mom tells us they didn't take any photos..and would
like to use the table as their cake table . I was thrilled and agreed.
so we moved it to the right side of the front table where the
couple were to be seated and they placed their cake in the middle.

Unfortunately for us we were rushing around and didn't get a
snapshot of it with the cake in the middle but will defintely get
a copy from the photographers that were there at the reception.

The reception ended after 9pm and ended well. Got home and
slept like babies...lol..

Upcoming Baby Shower Creations

(Excuse the quality of my pictures..they were taken with my cell ph. camera.)

So I've been playing around with 4 different diaper
wreaths we've been creating for some upcoming baby
showers and really like the overall look for the round 18"
diaper wreath on the bottom. I'm not done with the first
one and accidentally mixed in the size 3 with the size 2 on
the heart shaped wreath..so I'll be removing that. These
are Huggies diapers and nothing on here is from the dollar
store.

I did get these pretty cheap using coupons, store rewards
and GCards I had accumulated from the Target gift card
Deals last week. I have included travel size items on the
wreaths for mom and dad, such as, Herbal Essences Haircare
Kits, Pantene and Axe for Men..I figured that if they're
receiving these while at the hospital it would be
awesome to have something for mom and dad to use also.

Let me know if you have any other ideas on what I could
add on to these wreaths. I find that it's easier to make
and faster than the diaper cakes..

will post up 2 more wreaths I'm finishing up on...in a bit
I'm also preparing for my son Loni's 6th Birthday
tomorrow...hope he'll like it....
